Les clubbers de l’été 1982 ont usé les semelles de leurs Nike air force one (sorties cette année-là) et mouillé les épaulettes sur les dancefloors en se trémoussant sur Just an illusion.
En France, Just an illusion sera numéro un des ventes de singles en août et se classera en troisième position des meilleures ventes de singles pour l’année 1982, derrière Words de F.R. David et Chacun fait ç’qui lui plaît de Chagrin d’amour.
Le titre sera francisé quelques années plus tard par Jean-Louis Aubert et Juste une illusion. Mais non, c’est une blague : aucun rapport ;).
Fondé à Londres en 1981 par Leee John, Ashley Ingram, et Errol Kennedy, Imagination se revendique comme un trio post-disco-funk-soul. Le résultat est détonant. Issu de l’album In the heat of the night (comprenez: dans la chaleur de la nuit), Just an illusion annonce la couleur: du groove, du groove et du groove!
